C-TYPE PAPER PRINTS A C-Type print is a digital photograph reproduced onto traditional photographic paper. The photographic paper used has an extremely broad colour spectrum giving a true continuous tone, sharp, crisp images and precise edge to edge printing with no distortion. Photographic C-type paper prints are made by exposing photographic paper to laser light which is then developed using traditional photographic techniques. The process offers me the photographer the quality and archival properties of a traditional photographic print, combined with the creativity and consistency that can only be achieved from a digital process. Prints are mounted onto single mounts of conservation quality chalk white mountboard. The mount is signed and - where appropriate - numbered. Each photograph presented as a mounted paper print has a narrow white border that allows me to sign the back of the print without disturbing the actual photograph. (and numbered if it's a limited edition). all dimensions quoted on this website are for the photograph, not the paper size. This border is hidden under the mount, which itself provides a border of approximately 55mm. the final dimensions of photograph and mount are designed to fit standard size frames. All prints supplied without frames. Signed Certificate provided, which contains edition information plus a description about the photograph If the print is to be framed and will therefore be viewed behind glass, I recommend a lustre print as this will not show fingerprints and other minor blemishes. |

![]() This type of acrylic glass mounting is a high quality specialised mounting technique that is constructed to order by skilled crafts people. This type of mounting should not be confused with a cheaper, mass production technique whereby the mounted photograph is attatched to the wall using 4 aluminium bolts in each corner. The Reverse Perspex Mounting technique that I provide has no such intrusive bolts, |
PERSPEX REVERSE MOUNTING Perspex Reverse Mounting is one of the most impressive ways of presenting a modern and striking photographic image. Once the finished piece is hung on the wall it is sleek and minimal, with no visible wall fixings, which gives the appearance of the artwork 'floating' from the wall. The photograph is bonded to clear acrylic glass using silicon gel ensuring an airtight seal with no creases or bubbles, the print is then mounted onto a solid aluminium substrate. The result is a completely flat mount of the photograph that is sandwiched between clear acrylic glass and a rigid aluminium backing that will not bend or warp. The combined light penetration and refraction of the acrylic glass produces higher image definition, brilliant colour and a fine detailed texture. This superior clarity cannot be achieved with ordinary glazing methods. It is these qualities that has made this form of mounting very popular with art galleries. The finished piece is supplied ready to hang on the wall, eliminating the need for a picture frame. The mount is signed and - where appropriate - numbered. The artwork is signed and numbered on stickers attatched permanently to the back of the mount. Signed Certificate provided, which contains edition information plus a description about the photograph The mounted photograph is hung onto the wall using 9mm MDF battens for 12 x 8 inch. All larger sizes are supplied with a 20mm aluminium subframe. (see bottom of this web page for a description of wall hanging systems). |

CANVAS PRINTS All the artwork in my collection is available to purchase online as stunning canvas prints. They are produced using eco-solvent inkjet printing for long lasting results. All materials including cotton canvas and stretcher bars conform to modern gallery specifications. The canvas is coated with an acrylic coating to protect against scratches. The canvas is professionally stretched and stapled to a 30mm or 40mm handmade box frame (Also known as stretcher bars). Canvas prints are 'gallery wrapped', which means the image continues around the sides of the frame. However the wrap around effect does not crop any of the image. Your chosen image will be displayed in full on the canvas surface. If you require a single colour around the edge of the frame, you can have this too, but is not available as a choice at the checkout, however, if you contact me with any special request, I should be able to fulfill the request and issue a quotation. The artwork is signed and - where appropriate - numbered on the canvas surface itself. Signed Certificate provided, which contains edition information plus a description about the photograph All canvas prints are made to order. |

An advantage of purchasing a photographic print mounted this way is that the print surface is exposed rather than situated behind glass. For this option I present the photography on fine art paper rather than on traditional photographic paper. Fine art photographic paper is designed specifically for giclee (inkjet) photographic printing. Because this paper is derived from conventional artists paper It has a texture that has a more natural and attractive surface when viewed directly. I provide Hahnemuhle photo rag, which is fine art photographic paper created for digital photographic inkjet printing. It has a matte finish, and a matte sealant. The matte sealant allows the print to be cleaned more easily and provides an extra layer of UV protection. The matte sealant very slightly dulls darker colours and blacks in the photograph, however the dulling effect is very slight and I think the benefits are worthwhile.

MDF Block mounted prints.
Block mounting to 12mm MDF can create simple and effective displays. The artwork consists of a fine art paper inkjet (giclee) print on matte finished paper. The image surface is then sealed with a non reflective coating which protects the print surface and adds UV protection. The print is then bonded to a 12mm MDF block The edges are painted either black or white and are most commonly hung with 9mm battens making it appear to float from the wall. The mount is signed and - where appropriate - numbered. The artwork is signed and numbered on stickers attatched permanently to the back of the mount. Signed Certificate provided, which contains edition information plus a description about the photograph All MDF block mounted prints are made to order. |

| How to hang a photograph from the wall | |||
| The hanging systems below are
applicable only to MDF Block mounting and Perspex
reverse Mounting, and are supplied with the artwork (with
instructions). Canvas prints are supplied with brass hanging plates
attatched to the back of the artwork. These plates are
designed specifically for canvas art prints and allow the artwork to
hang flush against the wall without any visible hanging
paraphernalia. Conventional paper prints are supplied mounted but unframed, therefore the method of hanging will be particular to your choice of frame. |

9mm MDF split batten One set of 9mm battens are fixed to the back of the MDF mount. The second set of battens are screwed to the wall. The image is then hung by slotting the battens on the back of the MDF into the wall battens. The battens will give the impression of your artwork "floating" from the wall. The battens are approximately 9mm wide. The mounted photograph will therefore be a distance of 9mm from the wall. ![]() 9mm Split MDF batten |

20mm Aluminium subframe A subframe is an aluminium profile attached to the reverse of the mounted material. This is then hung onto a batten fixed to the wall Subframes can be used to sit the artwork 20mm away from the wall. the subframe is also neccessary for larger and heavier artworks. A subframe moulding will give the impression of your artwork "floating" from the wall. The moulding is approximately 20mm wide. The mounted photograph will therefore be a distance of 20mm from the wall. ![]() |
