Black and White
Black and white gives the photographer the chance to compose light
and dark. .
Ansel Adams was one of the greats of landscape photography, who
photographed with real vision, and used the black and white process
to put onto a paper print what he saw with his minds eye, his unique
interpretation of a scene, and the expression of that interpretation
in a photographic print.
Although digital photography allows the creative photographer the
ability to express that vision in both colour and black and white,
there will always be a place for black and white photography.
For me, it's about composing shapes in an image, where colour would
be a distracting element. Black and white works best in
specific situations, the original vision of the photographer should
decide whether a scene should be represented in colour or black and
white.
