This is the main street in the old town of Dubrovnik. I love night times in these places because there are so many nooks and crannies to explore, with architectural shapes and shadows that show themselves at night in a way that doesn’t happen during the day.
During the day tourists from tour groups and cruise ships fill the streets full of people, so it’s really busy. But after dark, they mostly disappear, and it becomes a much calmer place, where you can find a quiet place for a drink, or just listen to the gentle clinking of glasses and the hum of people talking in the cafes and bars
The sun has completely gone down so there is not even a glimmer of blue in the sky, giving the photograph a kind of monochrome feel with the orange light and black sky and shadows.
La composition et l’éclairage en font une superbe photo de nuit. J’aime beaucoup les ombres et les reflets sur le sol.
it sure is best to shoot this when everyone’s gone, nicely captured. 🙂
Fantastic old world night mood! Look at all that gorgeous stone. Love the way the light creates strong diagonal shadows, and the nebulous nooks and crannies you talk of. I can very well imagine the low soft sounds of the charming night cafes.
So romantic place
Beautiful lights, details of architecture
superb light and composition
Gorgeous night scene.
This is absolutely beautiful! The light really brings out the detail of the stone buildings and the street. I love your POV standing right at the long shadow. Magnificent!
