These two images are a couple of detail shots of doors that I found on my wanderings around Mostar on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They are very simple shots, and straight from the camera are nothing special, just a couple of drab photographs of mundane objects.
But that’s exactly what I love. As long as you get the composition right, and you post process the images so that you end up with something that aligns with your imagination, then you should end up with a photograph that makes the viewer want to look and linger.
For me it was the fine detail and that is why I converted to black and white. Then I attempted to draw out the detail from those objects and also bring out the detail in the wood.
I use Adobe Lightroom to achieve this.
